St Mary-Le-More - Wallingford

St Mary-Le-More is a grade II listed building that is now able to utilise the space in the nave for many events and activities. Continuous and unsympathetic ad hoc changes over a period of 100 years had created a visually disorientating and confusing space, with dark pews and a cluttered interior.
The architectural form of the reordered church is clear to see as the arches, aisles and uncluttered floor lead the eye into the brightly illuminated and articulated roof structure. Beautifully restored’ St Mary’s successfully meets the needs of its community – as it did once before – more than a century ago.
